IIABNY Education Team Receives National Honors

Trade group is repeat winner of the 'Excellence in Insurance Education' Diamond Award

(DeWitt, New York, Oct. 9, 2014) — The Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of New York (IIABNY) has again received honors for its work in insurance education. It accepted the 2014 Excellence in Insurance Education (EIE) Diamond Award from the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America (IIABA) at a ceremony in Grand Rapids, Michigan last month. This is the tenth time that IIABNY has received a national award and the fourth consecutive year it was won the EIE Diamond Award.

The EIE awards celebrate and recognize important contributions to insurance education. The IIABA presents them to state insurance producer associations and staff for service to their members and the industry. They honor work in the key areas of:

• Class offerings

• Continuing education

• Professionalism

• Designation offerings

• Industry collaboration

• Planning goals

• Marketing

• Resources.

Judges score each entrant based on a state's overall educational offerings in several areas. They also evaluate a short essay describing the state's programs.
