(Dewitt, New York, December 6, 2016) - The leadership team managing the membership services division of the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers has a new leader whose face is familiar to many IIABNY members. Brian R. Bixby was recently promoted to President of IAAC, the Service Corporation providing financial support to IIABNY by offering insurance products for the association's members to sell and non-insurance products for members to use and/or market to their clients. Bixby succeeds Lisa K. Lounsbury, who recently assumed the position of IIABNY Interim President and CEO.
As President, Bixby serves as chief liaison between IAAC and its volunteer board of directors, provides oversight and monitoring of all IAAC programs, products and activities and develops new program and product opportunities that benefit IIABNY member agencies and brokerages.
“Brian has been a star at the association since he arrived. He possesses incredible dedication and passion for our members and the association,” said Lounsbury in announcing Bixby's promotion. “Brian is someone that I have incredible respect for, trust in and confidence in his abilities and technical expertise.” During the past six years, he served as Assistant Vice President of IAAC and was responsible for managing the financial performance and operations for the corporation's errors and omissions and personal umbrella insurance programs.
Bixby joined IIABNY in 2001 as Membership Sales and Service Manager and served two years as Director of E&O and Product Sales for the association. Previously, he was a financial advisor for American Express Financial Advisors in Dewitt, NY. He is a licensed insurance agent, holding the New York property and casualty and life, accident and health agent's licenses. His insurance industry credentials include the CIC, CRM, AAI, ACSR, AINS and AIM professional designations. In 2015, he was named a member of the National Professional Liability Committee for the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America.
Bixby, who graduated from Siena College with a bachelor's degree in marketing management, resides in Baldwinsville, NY with his wife and their two children.
