Big I NY Honored For Outstanding Service To Members
Insurance producers trade group recognized for assisting members all over the U.S.
(Dewitt, New York, May 10, 2019) - Big I New York, the state's oldest insurance producer trade organization, was honored this week for oustanding service to its member insurance agencies and brokerages. The
Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America presented the group with its Membership Champion Award at an event in Washington, D.C. on May 8.
"This is a tremendous honor," said Big I New York Chair of the Board Louis Atti, CPCU, senior vice-president, personal insurance, Tompkins Insurance Agency. "We strive every day to support independent agents and brokers. They have been through a couple of very challenging years, trying to comply with new regulatory requirements. We worked very hard to help them do that. It's gratifying to be recognized for that work."
Big I New York President and CEO Lisa Lounsbury, CAE, AAI, AIS said, "We believe independent insurance agents serve customers best with trusted advice and the right coverage options to protect what matters most. We exist to contribute to their success. This award is a credit to the hard work of our staff, and we are honored to be chosen as Membership Champion." The Membership Champion Award recognizes a state independent insurance agents' association for exemplary membership recruitment and retention initiatives. During the past year, Big I New York has assisted agencies in New York and the rest of the country with their efforts to comply with the
Cybersecurity Requirements for Financial Services Companies regulation, implemented by the state government in March 2017. The group has also made extensive efforts to add new members and retain existing ones.
